2026ko ekainaren 19an eta 20an, LAIA Ikerketa Taldeak nazioarteko sinposio bat antolatuko du Altsasuko Iortia Kultur Gunean, euskal emigrazioa Ameriketara ardatz hartuta. Jardunaldietan historialariak, ikertzaileak eta diaspora gaietan adituak bilduko dira, XIX. mendetik gaur egunera arteko migrazio esperientziak, testigantzak, komunitateak eta kultur transmisioa aztertzeko.
Besteak beste, Xabier Irujo, Óscar Álvarez Gila, Iker Saitua, Laura Igantzi edo Edurne Arostegui bezalako hizlariek parte hartuko dute. Horrez gain, Jesus Goñi bertsolariari omenaldia eta bertso bazkaria egingo dira.

Los próximos 19 y 20 de junio de 2026, LAIA Ikerketa Taldea organizará en el Iortia Kultur Gunea de Altsasu un simposio internacional dedicado a la emigración vasco-navarra a las Américas. El encuentro reunirá a investigadores, docentes y personas vinculadas al estudio de la diáspora para reflexionar sobre migraciones, memoria, identidad, lengua y comunidad entre los siglos XIX y XX.
Participarán, entre otros, Xabier Irujo, Óscar Álvarez Gila, Iker Saitua, Laura Igantzi o Edurne Arostegui. Además, el sábado tendrá lugar un homenaje al bertsolari Jesús Goñi y una bertso bazkaria abierta al público.
La asistencia al simposio será libre, pero agradeceríamos realizar una inscripción orientativa para facilitar la organización de cafés, materiales y actividades complementarias.

On June 19–20, 2026, LAIA Ikerketa Taldea will organize an international symposium at Iortia Kultur Gunea in Altsasu focused on Basque-Navarrese migration to the Americas. The symposium will bring together scholars, researchers, and members of the Basque diaspora to explore migration experiences, identity, language, memory, and community from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Speakers will include Xabier Irujo, Óscar Álvarez Gila, Iker Saitua, Laura Igantzi, and Edurne Arostegui, among others. The program will also feature a tribute to bertsolari Jesús Goñi and a traditional bertso lunch gathering.
Attendance is open to the public, although we kindly encourage participants to complete the registration form in order to help us estimate attendance and organize the event more effectively.
